Jambu Edu ("we", "us", "our") is an educational management platform operated by Jambu Edu (Mayank Web Storage), available at https://jambuedu.com and through our Android and iOS mobile applications. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, with whom we share it, and your choices. It applies to schools, teachers, students, parents, administrators, and academic suppliers using our services.

By registering or using Jambu Edu, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

2. Information we collect

Depending on your role and features you use, we may collect:

3. How we use your information

  • Provide, operate, and improve the educational management Service.
  • Authenticate users, manage accounts, and enforce role-based access.
  • Process school fees and SaaS subscriptions through our payment partner.
  • Send service-related notifications (attendance, fees, results, approvals) via push, email, or SMS where enabled.
  • Display academic and administrative data to authorized users within your institution.
  • Prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents; comply with applicable law.
  • Respond to support requests and account deletion requests.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use student data for third-party advertising or behavioral profiling.

4. Legal basis (India)

We process personal data to perform our contract with you and your institution, with your consent where required (e.g. optional notifications, photo uploads), and for legitimate interests such as security and service improvement. Where the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (India) applies, you may exercise rights described in Section 10.

5. Payment processing (Razorpay)

Online payments for school fees and subscriptions are processed by Razorpay Software Private Limited ("Razorpay"), a PCI-DSS compliant payment gateway. When you pay online, you are redirected to Razorpay's secure checkout. Razorpay collects and processes payment credentials according to its own Privacy Policy. We receive only payment status, order ID, payment ID, and amount — not your full card or UPI details.

For payment-related questions or disputes, contact us at support@jambuedu.com and see our Refund & Cancellation Policy.

6. Third-party service providers

We use trusted processors who access data only to perform services for us, under contractual obligations:

  • Cloud hosting & database — to store and serve application data securely.
  • Razorpay — payment processing (see above).
  • SMS OTP provider (2Factor.in) — one-time passwords for registration and login.
  • Cloudinary — image storage for profile photos and mini-site media.
  • Email (SMTP) — transactional emails such as OTP and notifications.
  • Push notification services — device tokens for mobile alerts (when enabled).

Each provider has its own privacy terms. We require them to protect data and use it only for the purposes we specify.

7. Data sharing

We may share information only in these situations:

  • With your school, college, or institution administrators and authorized staff as part of the Service.
  • With service providers listed in Section 6, under confidentiality obligations.
  • When required by law, court order, or government request in India.
  • To protect the rights, safety, and security of users, our platform, or the public.
  • In connection with a merger or acquisition, with notice where legally required.

8. Data retention

We retain personal data while your account is active and as needed to provide the Service. Academic records may be retained as required by your institution or applicable education regulations. After account deletion, we delete or anonymize personal data within approximately 30 days, except where longer retention is required by law, for dispute resolution, or payment/audit records (typically up to 7 years for financial records as per Indian tax and accounting norms).

9. Security

We use industry-standard measures including HTTPS encryption in transit, hashed passwords, access controls, and secure server infrastructure. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; please keep your login credentials confidential and report suspected unauthorized access immediately.

10. Your rights & choices

You may have the right to:

  • Access and correct inaccurate personal data in your profile.
  • Request deletion of your account — see Delete Account or in-app Settings → Request account deletion.
  • Withdraw consent for optional processing (e.g. disable push/email in Settings).
  • Lodge a complaint with a data protection authority where applicable.

For requests, email privacy@jambuedu.com. We will respond within a reasonable time (typically 30 days). Parents or guardians may contact us or the school regarding a minor student's data.

11. Children's privacy

The Service is used by students, including those under 18, under the direction of their educational institution. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children for marketing. Schools and parents are responsible for ensuring appropriate consent for student enrollment. If you believe we collected a child's data without proper authorization, contact privacy@jambuedu.com.

12. International users

Our primary operations and data storage are in India. If you access the Service from outside India, you understand that your data may be processed in India where our servers and providers are located.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the revised version on this page and update the "Last updated" date. Material changes may be communicated via the app or email where appropriate. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated policy.
